Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining a vendor base for required materials.
- Procuring, tracking, and expediting materials to meet customer expectations.
- Participating in supplier audits and vendor assessments.
- Promoting competitive bidding to support cost savings.
- Working to reduce costs of purchased goods.
- Generating reports to monitor purchase orders, safety stock, inventory values, and more.
- Maintaining accuracy of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) data.
- Interfacing with other departments as needed.
- Performing additional tasks as deemed appropriate.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical field or Supply Chain Management, with at least 5 years of purchasing experience or a high school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with an ERP System.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Tools.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on building positive vendor relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks.
Skills
- Availability to travel occasionally (mainly local).
- Availability to do overtime.
- Proficiency in SAP.
