About the role

The Buyer at HIROTEC America is responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services, particularly outsourcing of machine and fabrication part details for the organization. This includes reviewing floor capacity, conferencing with machine and fabrication vendors for product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, and liaising between the internal manufacturing floor and external outsourced vendors.

Responsibilities

• Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
• Seek and develop new machine and fabrication vendors for the organization.
• Review vendor quotes and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Determine method of procurement such as internal source or outsource.
• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Expedite delivery of goods to users when necessary.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have a background or familiarity with manufacturing, machine and fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to understand complex details and sub details of machine and fabrication parts.
• Reviews vendor quotes and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Estimate values according to knowledge of market price.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Communicates effectively and uses Microsoft Office applications.
