About the Role

Join Hexagon Agility, a leading global provider of clean fuel solutions in the transport sector. Our technology enables hard-to-decarbonize segments—such as trucks and buses—to transition from diesel to cleaner fuel alternatives. We are seeking an ambitious and driven colleague to work closely with our local purchasing team, focusing on the purchase and negotiation of direct and indirect materials and services to drive energy transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Issue request for quotation and compile bids for total cost of ownership (TCO) comparison.
  • Submit and follow up on Supplier Evaluations to calculate supplier ratings.
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Materials Management to coordinate purchases for the best price with timely delivery.
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness prior to placing purchase orders.
  • Enter purchase orders in ERP system and issue to suppliers electronically, online, fax, or verbally.
  • Maintain change orders and communicate updates to suppliers.
  • Follow up on open orders and coordinate supplier meetings related to performance management, new opportunities, product development, cost reductions, and forecasting.
  • Communicate quality and warranty issues with suppliers and work toward resolution.
  • Participate in negotiations as needed.
  • Investigate new suppliers for material improvements and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain accurate purchase data in ERP system, including "a plan for every part."
  • Resolve invoice/purchase order discrepancies and match receivers/packing slips to purchase orders for payment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of purchasing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Buyer experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of supplier negotiation, bidding, and pricing tactics and practices preferred.
  • ERP/MRP experience preferred.
  • Technical proficiency preferred.

  • Digital literacy: ERP systems, MS Word, MS Excel, email.

Work Environment

The role primarily works in an office environment but may require time on the plant production floor. When on the production floor, all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements must be followed, including safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed boots.

The physical demands include sitting for extended periods at a computer, frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The role may require extended hours during month-end, quarterly, or year-end periods.
