About the role
Fuse is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Buyer to join our energetic team. This role involves supporting the company's full business purchasing and production teams across multiple product families. The position requires working closely with engineering, operations, and program teams to understand needs and identify purchasing solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end purchasing process consisting of sourcing, quoting, placing, and tracking critical components for our production team
- Partner closely with engineering, operations, and program teams to understand needs and identify purchasing solutions that serve the user
- Balances a fast past ordering process with urgency and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring quality, compliance, and value
- Proactively identifies risks, resolve supply issues, and improve supply chain processes
- Negotiate with key suppliers to obtain best value materials that support cost, schedule, and quality goals that directly impact mission success
Requirements
- Strong, clear interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers
- Comfort discussing and negotiating pricing, timelines, and expectations with suppliers
- A high attention to detail and a strong sense of integrity
- At least 3-years experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (defense, aerospace, or manufacturing experience a plus)
Nice to have
- Experience in sourcing new, non-traditional, and emerging suppliers to solve complex or time-critical needs
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 or other ERP software
- BA in business management or related field
