Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily purchasing and expediting activities for the Fairwater division.
• Activities include daily communication with suppliers, vessels, and shoreside management teams to ensure the effective implementation of company purchasing processes, procedures, and systems.
• Purchasing various materials for assigned tank vessels, including machinery spares, steward supplies, tools, and deck consumables.
• Researching/sourcing products, processing requisitions/requests for quotations, and evaluating/selecting vendors.
• Preparing and following purchase orders to ensure correct coding and approvals.
• Following up on all issued purchase orders to ensure appropriate delivery dates/times/locations.
• Updating the company’s purchasing system with any changes in status or other information on suppliers/products.
• Assisting clerical staff with reconciling purchase orders and invoice discrepancies.
• Leading and supporting contract negotiations with suppliers, working alongside the Purchasing Manager to establish terms and conditions, pricing agreements, service level commitments, and renewals to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
• Working with Operations to support sourcing for drydocks and special projects, and collaborating with logistics to ensure parts and materials are delivered on time.
• Assisting colleagues with daily responsibilities in the event of vacation, sick days, business trips, etc., to ensure uninterrupted service to vessels.

Required Qualifications

• Three years of experience with purchasing responsibilities required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Associate's degree preferred.
