JOB SUMMARY

The Buyer is responsible for acquiring goods and services at a competitive price, with on-time delivery and top quality via issuance of a purchase order. The Buyer will assist more senior buyers and perform a range of activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, suppliers, and services based on established quality standards, availability requirements and price constraints.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

  • Makes daily purchases within allotted programs based on requisitions and analyzes the quality, specifications and delivery requirements
  • Sends out quotations for bids on non-contracted items and negotiates best price
  • Enters purchase orders into system and issues to supplier via fax or email
  • Reviews purchase orders on a weekly basis via reporting system and follows up on past due items plus requirements due in coming weeks
  • HIGHLIGHTS any problem areas and reports to the Purchasing Supervisor
  • Interacts with Planning and Production to ensure any changes in production requirements are flowed down to suppliers
  • Generates effective communication, good relationships, and a positive image with suppliers and co-workers promoting courtesy, objectivity and fairness
  • Liaises with planners to control scheduling of parts to ensure stock levels meet demands while staying within stock level buffers
  • Reviews Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) written against suppliers and relays such information to them and coordinates corrective action
  • Updates suppliers with engineering changes and drawings
  • Reviews supplier performance
  • Locates new suppliers (if necessary)
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:

    • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • A Bachelors degree is desired.
  • Experience:

    • Position may be filled with both entry level and experienced candidates.
    • Preferred Skills/Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Other:

    • Extended or irregular hours may be required.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Elevate Aircraft Seating offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

  • Salary Range Transparency: $82,000 - $103,000 annually
