About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement and inventory operations. The Buyer will manage purchasing activities, develop supplier relationships, and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of goods and services to meet company needs. This role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, negotiating favorable terms, and collaborating with internal teams to support smooth supply chain and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities including requisition review, supplier selection, purchase order issuance, and order follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors; evaluate performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and contracts to secure competitive costs and favorable service levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory control and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess or stockouts.
  • Use ERP systems to process purchase orders, update records, track deliveries, and ensure accurate documentation for audits.
  • Analyze spend data and supplier performance to identify cost savings, consolidation opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with production, operations, and supply chain teams to forecast demand and prioritize purchases according to business needs.
  • Manage vendor onboarding, price lists, and supplier change requests; maintain accurate vendor master data.
  • Handle supplier communications regarding returns, claims, and corrective actions to maintain product quality and delivery standards.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and KPIs for management review, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and inventory turnover.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience (manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environment preferred).
  • Proven experience with purchasing processes, vendor management, and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong data entry and reporting skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend and inventory data to drive decisions and cost savings.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operations, including inbound logistics and inventory replenishment.
  • Purchasing certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) or relevant training are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience creating reports and managing purchase order workflows.
