Brief Description
Crestview Aerospace is a manufacturing organization collaborating with major aircraft and weapon systems OEMs like Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, and others. They provide complex design-to-build and build-to-print assemblies for platforms including H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems like Harpoon and SLAM-ER. The company operates from two sites in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, Florida, employing around 300 professionals.
Responsible for
- Sourcing materials, supplies, and services to support aerospace manufacturing operations
- Developing supplier relationships
- Negotiating contracts
- Analyzing pricing and market trends
- Ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met
- Collaborating with internal teams to drive cost reductions
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Supporting continuous process improvements
- Maintaining accurate records
- Resolving purchasing issues
- Tracking cost improvement for assigned categories
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in business or engineering) with 1-3 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication skills (both written and presentation)
- Ability to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and flexible hours as required
- Some travel may be required
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instructions
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
- Epicor experience is preferred
- Intermediate to Expert experience with Microsoft suite is preferred
- Experience in collaboration of business process improvements
Work Environment
- Primarily works in an office setting with long periods of sitting
- Actively involved in an aerospace manufacturing environment with a mix of office-based work and collaboration with production, quality, and supply chain team
- May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations
Physical Requirements
- Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment
- Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current
- Must be able to bend and reach
- Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds
- Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
