About the role
CPI Electron Device Business seeks a Buyer to support the procurement needs of the company. This role involves managing supplier relationships, creating and maintaining purchase orders, evaluating quotes, and resolving issues.
Responsibilities
- Serves as Primary Liaison between CPI and our suppliers.
- Creates and maintains purchase orders.
- Pulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliers.
- Evaluates supplier quotes and awards accordingly.
- Works with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete material.
- Aids Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Escalates supplier related issues in a prompt manner.
- Helps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI EDB employees.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree and/or APICS certification a plus.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements DFAR/FAR.
- Knowledge of ERP and/or MRP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP.
- Ability to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issue.
- In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Experience assisting with negotiations and ability to obtain mutually beneficial collaborative win win solutions.
