Responsibilities

• Purchase direct orders from suppliers and manage deliveries.
• Generate purchase orders with autonomy, judgment, and fiscal responsibility, adhering to company parameters.
• Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs in buying practices.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without over-purchasing, maintaining proper cash flow, customer satisfaction, sales, and margins.
• Utilize ERP systems to analyze demand planning data and suggest changes to forecasting.
• Analyze daily Excel reports to improve backorders and fill rates, adjusting purchasing strategies as needed.
• Manage procurement paths for items, including deciding between buying direct and using transfer/hub/spoke models.
• Initiate vendor returns and product transfers within the BradyPLUS network to maintain inventory levels within company guidelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, exercising sound judgement in vendor interactions, purchase orders, and agreements.
• Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with Purchasing Leadership and the Merchandising team to address any issues.
• Develop alternative sources to mitigate risk.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management (management of lines and vendors).
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Industry-specific experience/product knowledge (preferred but not required).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Creative and keen attention to detail.

About the Role

This role will be responsible for the purchasing and replenishment of goods and services at the right time, quality, and cost necessary for BradyPLUS to delight customers and operate efficiently. The Purchasing Agent will exercise strategic thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication to manage assigned lines, supplier relationships, and purchasing processes.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
