Job Summary
The Indirect Material Procurement Category Lead supports the Global Machine Clothing Supply Chain Management with data gathering and analysis, supplier interaction, procurement support for different sites, and direct support of management. This role includes local site procurement support, contract negotiation, sourcing of indirect materials, and managing material aspects for assigned commodity groups.
About the Role
Supports procurement activities in a centralized environment with colleagues in multiple locations. Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems, participates in determining objectives of assignments, plans schedules, and arranges activities to accomplish objectives. Communicates professionally both verbally and in writing with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts. Provides record-keeping support as needed and represents the organization as a primary contact on contracts or projects. Prepares proposal requests and solicits and awards purchase orders consistent with contract requirements.
Responsibilities

- Develops new sources of supply based on quality product, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing.
- Solicits and awards purchase orders consistent with the requirements of the contract.
Requirements
- Strong aptitude for negotiations including some significant demonstrated success.
- Knowledge of Contract Law and other Procurement regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Computer skills: word documents, excel, and power point.
- SAP experience highly desirable.
- Attention to details.
- Cost savings driven and understanding of impact to the bottom line.
- Cost-analysis skills and understanding of market drivers.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively.
- Out of the box thinking.
- Goal Driven Sense of Urgency.
- "Hands-on" style.
- Experience with managing suppliers based in the Americas, Europe, and Asia is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
