Responsibilities
- Forecast material requirements based on production needs, demand plans, and historical usage.
- Create and manage purchase orders.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
- Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and lead corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and support cost reduction efforts.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within the ERP/MRP system.
- Cookordination with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to resolve supply issues.
- Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with coworkers and managers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of purchasing experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a business field is preferred.
- A background working in the aerospace manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
