About the role
Thomson Power Systems (TPS), a Regal Rexnord company, is a leading manufacturer of electrical products and systems for the power generation industry with over 50 years of proven excellence. As we expand into a new facility near Arlington, TX, we're seeking a Buyer to support our new procurement team. Reporting directly to the Arlington Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the business has the right quantity of goods and materials at the right time and cost to meet production and operational needs. This role involves strategic planning, purchasing, inventory control, and supplier relationship management to ensure an uninterrupted flow of materials required for production. Responsibilities
- Drive demand planning through SAP and established MRP process.
- Monitor and analyze vendor performance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, resolving escalations related to delivery, quality, and pricing discrepancies.
- Place purchasing orders and follow up with suppliers to meet the production schedule.
- Maintain the integrity of work order and purchase order data in SAP.
- Manage inventory levels (stock, buy-in, VMI, MRO) for reorder.
- Develop strategies to increase inventory turnover.
- Review daily and weekly production plans to ensure material availability.
- Monitor, identify, and resolve past due backlog issues proactively.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and trade compliance procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement with demonstrated results.
- Demonstrated experience in ERP and MRP (transactional and planning module).
- Experience in SAP will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.
