About the role
The Server Assistant / Busser supports the front-of-house team by quickly clearing and resetting tables, refilling beverages, and helping deliver food as needed. They ensure the dining room stays clean, organized, and ready for guests, helping maintain smooth and efficient service.
Essential Functions
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
- Prepare and set all dining areas for service
- Set tables before, during, and after service according to standards
- Perform side work assigned by Supervisor
- Offer water to all seated guests
- Clear plates and silver between courses and prep set up for the next course to be served
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, China, glass, etc., throughout the day
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, polishing silver and glassware, etc.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests everywhere, always
- Be available to run food, bus tables and re-set dining sections in all areas
- Address guests' service needs
- Speak with others using clear and professional language
- Develop positive working relationships with fellow staff and support team to reach company goals
- Provide service to always expected levels while on property
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a busser, server assistant, or in hospitality preferred, but not required
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
- Ability to stay organized and work quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, professional attitude with a willingness to take direction
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and guest service standards
- Reliable and punctual
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods
- Lift, carry, and push/pull up to 40 lbs
- Frequently bend, stoop, and reach
Schedule
Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality– on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
