Busser/Runner (SA)

Responsibilities

• Sets, maintains and clears tables in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
• Supports the service staff by restocking service stations, polishing and restocking flatware, glassware, and plateware, and assisting with table maintenance and water refills.
• Delivers dishes to guests in a timely and efficient manner, using their proper names upon delivery.
• Affixes to expedite food when an expediting chef or manager is not in the window.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a busser or food runner is preferred, but not required.
• Must speak basic English.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
• Must have good organizational, time management and sales skills.
• Must possess verbal communication skills to relay basic information.
• Must be dependable, reliable and be driven with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a high level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through.
• Must be both effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

• Position requires sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession.
• This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing of up to approximately 21-50lbs.
• Must be able to withstand changes to temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat.
• Must be able to work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear effectively with surrounding background noise.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must possess adequate sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide at a basic level.
