Job Description
The primary function of the Busser is supporting Servers by assisting in clearing & cleaning tables in a timely manner.
- Work as part of a team, communicating clearly and constructively.
- Priorimarily support Servers by:
- Clearing tables of remaining dishes when guests complete their meal
- Clean & sanitize tables (adhering to current procedures) prior to new guest(s) being seated
- Ensure all dishes used in the dining room are sparkling clean
- Sweep, mop & in some instance, vacuum, dining room floors
- Clean up spills & remove trash
- Clean furniture, fixtures & walls in the dining room & service areas
- Carry dishes to dish room
- Scrape, sort and stack dirty dishes
- Restock clean dishes in the front of house
- Clean up spills & remove trash
- Clean furniture, fixtures & walls in the dining room & service areas
- Stock & refill ice bins
- Maintain cleanliness & stocking of restrooms, conducting restroom checks every hour.

Performance Measures
- Dining room is maintained clean & well stocked
- Tables are able to be seated quickly
- Feedback from Servers, Managers and Guests.
Required Education
Silver Diner values education from on-the-job learning demonstrated through consistent career growth as well as formal education.
Required Experience
Prior experience is preferred but not required for this position

Physical Requirements
- The work area includes: food, refrigeration, knives, toasters, syrup dispensers, plates/bowls, slippery floors, and, at times, high temperatures.
- It is a physically intense environment requiring stamina and the ability to tolerate heat, walk-in coolers, lift/maneuver boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk on hard surfaces for 10-12 hours per day.
- Able to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
- Able to tolerate proper use of cleaning & sanitizing products.
- Being able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
