Business Unit Manager (A320) Engine and Storage Management
Airbus is seeking a dedicated Business Unit Manager to join the A320 Completions team, accountable for delivering a complete and certified Single Aisle Engine and Storage Work Package that aligns with Airbus and international authority requirements.
About the Role
You will ensure all operational processes are executed on time, within quality standards, and on budget. The role involves leading a functional team, managing budgets, driving operational excellence, and collaborating with Procurement and Engineering to optimize costs.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership (10%): Lead a functional team of 6 indirect staff members.
- Budget Responsibility (15%): Manage significant subcontracted and consulting activity budgets (8M€ for Storage and 3M€ for Engine-related activities).
- Operational Excellence (15%): Guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of all operational processes from the start of the Engine/Storage cycle up to FOT (Final Operational Transfer) and continuously drive process improvements.
- Delivery (50%): Deliver a fully operational ground engine that meets all cost, time, and quality standards for the A320 Completions.
- Optimization (10%): Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to develop practicable concepts that improve operating costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent working experience.
- 10+ years of experience in an aerospace or industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on production management, assembly lines (FAL), or engine/component integration.
- Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
About the Team
The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities assembles A220 and A320 Family aircraft across two (soon to be three) production lines. Team members are passionate about aviation and skilled in electrical, structural, and quality disciplines.
Working Environment
Located at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility on 'Airbus Way' in Mobile, Alabama, the site produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and supports Airbus’ global competitiveness.
