Responsibilities
- Leading and managing a team in preparing, reviewing, and electronically filing Form 5500s for various employee benefit plans
- Overseeing data analysis to ensure accuracy and federal compliance, including ERISA and Internal Revenue Code
- Delivering compliance services for Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, 720, and 5330, addressing client needs of different scopes
- Acting as primary contact for internal teams, clients, and auditors
- Managing engagement risk, financial performance, billing, collections, and project budgets
- Monitoring evolving regulatory requirements for Form 5500 filers
- Upholding professionalism, integrity, and a respectful work environment
Qualifications
- At least five years of recent experience in employee benefit plan compliance, tax, or audit, with two years in leadership
- Bachelor’s degree; CPA, JD/LLM, or EA credentials preferred, with a one-year window to obtain if not already held
- Deep knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations related to employee benefit plans
- Proven leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building strong client and team relationships
