Accountabilities
- Support technology initiatives by analyzing operational needs, documenting requirements, and partnering with technical teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Help optimize prior authorization workflows by ensuring systems, processes, and stakeholders remain aligned throughout implementation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as a strategic liaison between Prior Authorization operations, engineering teams, automation partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements, workflow improvements, automation opportunities, and new functionality.
- Partner with operational leaders and subject matter experts to understand current workflows, identify pain points, and define future-state solutions.
- Translate operational needs into clear technical requirements while communicating technical updates and limitations back to business teams.
- Create and maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, decision trees, and visual representations of current and future workflows.
- Evaluate technology requests to determine feasibility, operational value, scalability, and alignment with business priorities.
- Assess the impact of system changes across prior authorization processes, including submissions, decisions, appeals, cancellations, and follow-up workflows.
- Support prioritization and intake processes to ensure technology requests are complete, structured, and aligned with engineering capabilities.
- Manage documentation related to requirements, process decisions, risks, dependencies, action items, and project updates.
- Create, monitor, and track Jira tickets related to technology initiatives and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Support user acceptance testing, workflow validation, issue identification, and implementation readiness activities.
- Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with technical teams to resolve workflow disruptions.
- Ensure technology solutions align with intended business outcomes and operational requirements.
- Support communication, training, and change management activities related to new processes and system updates.
- Collaborate with other technology-focused analysts to ensure system changes remain aligned across platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow consistency, automation adoption, and overall technology effectiveness.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is a healthcare operations professional with strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and experience translating business needs into technology solutions.
- You should be comfortable working across business and technical teams, managing multiple initiatives, and improving complex operational workflows.
- Experience in Prior Authorization, Revenue Cycle, Billing Operations, healthcare operations, or a closely related healthcare function.
- Strong understanding of prior authorization workflows, ideally within healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, biotechnology, or revenue cycle environments.
- Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating operational needs into technical or functional specifications.
- Strong process mapping, workflow documentation, and visual diagramming skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to facilitate discussions, resolve differing viewpoints, and drive alignment across teams.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, downstream impacts, and process improvements.
- Comfort working in an evolving environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Technical curiosity and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and workflows.
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM and workflow platforms.
- Experience using Jira or comparable ticketing and project management tools.
- Experience with process-mapping tools such as Miro, Draw.io, Visio, or Lucidchart.
- Exposure to automation platforms, payer portals, healthcare technology solutions, or system integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or structured project management methodologies.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing, implementation activities, workflow validation, or change management.
- Basic familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, reporting tools, or data workflows is a plus.
