About the role

Florida Poly is a small, fast-moving STEM institution that treats our Workday tenant as a platform for progress, not just a system to maintain. As a Business Systems Analyst II on our Enterprise Solutions team, you'll design, refine, and reimagine the business processes that run this university, working across HCM, Financials, Procurement, Grants, and connected areas like payroll, benefits, and talent management. We believe the best solutions come from trying things: whiteboarding a bold idea, building it, testing it, and pivoting if it doesn't work. This role is built for a true generalist who can flex across the Workday tenant as priorities shift, stay ahead of new release features, and help put bleeding-edge functionality to work for our university. Most of all, we're looking for someone smart, curious, and genuinely excited to learn. You don't need to walk in the door with every skill mastered; if you've got the drive and the aptitude, we'll invest in developing the rest.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business processes across HCM, Finance, and Procurement functional areas; gather system requirements and end-user needs.
  • Whiteboard and design business process frameworks, document functional and technical requirements, process workflows, reports, security configurations, and integrations.
  • Build and maintain Workday reports and integrations (EIBs, Calculated Fields, Custom Reports, BIRT) to support business analysis and obtain sign-off from primary process owners.
  • Prepare and organize testing, including functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), across affected Workday modules.
  • Foster inter-department relationships that emphasize collaboration, delivery, and process improvement. Work effectively with all areas of the University, including other systems/business analysts, platform administrators, and project managers, on joint projects as necessary.
  • Work as part of the ITS Solutions Delivery Team to deliver high-quality digital business solutions. Help maintain the business process library. Work with the Documentation & Training Specialist to meet client support needs for documentation and training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Two years of direct experience in business systems analysis
  • In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education experience.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience across multiple Workday functional areas, such as HCM, Financials, Procurement, and/or Adaptive Planning.
  • Background in accounting/financial administration, human resource administration, or procurement operations.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification.
  • Workday Pro or Partner certification.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Workday ERP functionality across multiple functional domains (HCM, Financials, Procurement, and/or Adaptive Planning), with the ability to develop deeper expertise in specific modules as assigned.
  • Proficient in Workday's core reporting and integration toolset, including Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Calculated Fields, Custom Reports, and BIRT report writer.
  • Ability to work with clients to solve problems, provide guidance, and enhance their ability to use functional modules in business system platforms such as Workday ERP.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently, proactively, and in a positive manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in Workday reports and data loads.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to whiteboard and design end-to-end business process frameworks within Workday, translating stakeholder needs into structured, configurable workflows.
