Business Systems Analyst

About the Role

PennEngineering is seeking a motivated Operational Business Systems Analyst to join the Information Technology Team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with teams to manage and optimize our JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, focusing on manufacturing and distribution. The ideal candidate will drive system utilization, enhance business processes, and deliver measurable business value through KPIs and regular reviews.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements, including test cases, exceptions, and acceptance criteria for enhancements and new features.
• Develop a strong understanding of operational processes, including manufacturing, distribution, inventory management, production planning, and supply chain activities.
• Act as a business change agent to drive system utilization, improve decision-making, and create process efficiencies.
• Design solutions in collaboration with the ERP development team, leveraging JD Edwards capabilities to align with business objectives.
• Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring proficiency in JD Edwards tools and driving adoption of new features.
• Lead and manage JD Edwards projects, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance system performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of business processes, user guides, and system configurations.
• Oversee data integrity and quality within JD Edwards, including data cleansing and standardization.
• Stay updated on JD Edwards releases and identify opportunities to apply new features; network with other users to implement best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory certifications, security policies, and standard IS practices (e.g., change management, service request tracking).
• Contribute as a global team member, acting as a subject matter expert for manufacturing/distribution processes and serving as a liaison between IT, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customers.
• Build system capabilities to drive business value focused on key operational pillars: enabling external growth, driving customer satisfaction, and improving team efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ERP Business Systems Analyst or similar role supporting JD Edwards applications.
• In-depth knowledge of JD Edwards, specifically in manufacturing or distribution modules; experience with other modules is a plus.
• Proficiency in JD Edwards configuration, customization, and integration with other systems; experience with JD Edwards development tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and design effective solutions.
• Proven experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment and communicate effectively across departments and regions.
• Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Leadership, and external vendors.
• Ability to work independently in a high-demand environment; self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel 25%-50%; position is primarily onsite in Michigan with potential for hybrid work.
