About the role
The Business System Analyst I works with administrators, subject matter experts, and IT personnel to clarify project objectives, conduct business needs analysis, and provide clear and structured requirements for technology-related initiatives and upgrades. Ensures IT systems and applications align with UCF organizational objectives. Plans, manages, and ensures the proper implementation of projects related to business process changes and improvements. Evaluates, assesses, and designs the technical functions of various UCF business systems modules.
Responsibilities
- Translates business objectives into system requirements.
- Documents detailed project scope and requirements.
- Designs systems to integrate and streamline business records for various UCF departments.
- Facilitates implementation design, table development, data migration, and maintenance.
- Collaborates with end users to analyze, document, and develop workflows.
- Assists with configuration, testing, and implementation of system solutions.
- Performs gap analysis and identifies needed process changes.
- Evaluates customer business needs; identifies and documents business problem(s).
- Evaluates and documents the impact of proposed solution(s) on the organization’s operations.
- Builds and maintains documentation templates.
- Coordinates documentation of test cases; facilitates and tracks user acceptance testing.
- Documents necessary user, file, and object-level security.
- Assists with business case development, build vs. buy, feasibility, risk, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Collaborates with business owners and subject matter experts to design and develop high-quality business solutions and processes.
- Consults with users and departments to evaluate, assess, and determine user functions.
- Manages data, monitors interfaces, and assures compliance with applicable department regulations.
- Designs, modifies, and executes specific queries.
- Coordinates preparation of tests and loading of program patches and upgrades.
- Serves as a liaison between end-users and programmers to ensure computer applications and modifications meet business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience; or
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Qualifications
- Master's Degree (preferred).
- Certification(s): PMI-CAPM, iiBA-ECBA, PMI-PBA, or iiBA-CBAP (preferred).
- Highly organized with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
$48,722.00 to negotiable.
Schedule
Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
