About the role

The IT Energy Operations, Strategy, and Construction team is looking for a Business Technology Analyst to provide support for our Commodities Product Team in Richmond, VA. This is a 12-month contract position.

You will facilitate requirements gathering, as-is/to-be analysis, and gap analysis, along with new system implementation projects and maintenance support of existing systems. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with internal partners, IT personnel, and external service providers are critical to success. You will develop processes to automate and reduce workload while contributing to IT and business areas.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate requirements workshops for large and/or complex projects.
• Functionally deconstruct, analyze, and document internal business partners' systems, problems, processes, and needs.
• Define requirements and test cases using structured methodologies.
• Lead documentation of requirements, test cases, use cases, and design thinking exercises.
• Provide written and verbal updates on projects and solutions to IT and business management.
• Consult with internal partners regarding technology and process solutions.
• Facilitate finding and developing viable technology solutions by collaborating with teammates, internal IT groups, external service providers, and partners.
• Guide internal partners by assessing existing software systems and determining future capabilities.
• Work with internal partners, IT groups, and external service providers to implement new systems, modify existing systems, and provide system maintenance support.
• Provide application and system support for multiple systems used by internal business partners.
• Support projects and troubleshooting efforts.
• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance control execution and evidence gathering.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in information technology, business/technology consulting, utility, or oil and gas sectors.
• Experience in a large-scale IT environment across multiple hardware and software platforms.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED/Equivalency; Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00 per hour, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
