Business Services Coordinator
About the role
The Department of Nuclear Engineering is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused professional to serve as a key member of its Business Office. In this role, you will support both the department and the Nuclear Reactor Program (NRP) by coordinating business operations, managing financial and administrative processes, and serving as a trusted resource for faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Cook up administrative and business operations for the Department of Nuclear Engineering and the Nuclear Reactor Program.
- Manage complex financial transactions, purchasing, reconciliations, and related business processes while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Maintain academic and graduate student records, supporting departmental programs with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external vendors by providing timely information, resolving questions, and facilitating effective communication.
- Support program management activities and departmental initiatives by organizing priorities, tracking deadlines, and ensuring business operations run efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience/Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices, including processing, tracking, and reconciling transactions; proficiency with databases and spreadsheet applications to organize, analyze, and maintain business, financial, or program-related information; background supporting business operations within higher education, research, government, or a similarly complex administrative environment; demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and timely completion of tasks; familiarity with enterprise business or financial systems (such as PeopleSoft, Banner, Workday, or similar ERP systems).

Pay
Commensurate with Experience ($50,000-$55,800)
Schedule
Monday- Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm
