Business Operations Analysis, Advisor
Join Southern California Edison (SCE) as a Business Operations Analysis, Advisor and support the clean energy revolution by building a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll focus on Aerial Transmission and Centralized Gatekeeping inspection programs while assisting with Transmission 360, Distribution 360, compliance ground inspections, and related notifications. Provide operational, technical, training, data analysis, and quality review support to enhance inspection reliability, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce risk through improved workflows and tools.
About the role
As a Business Operations Analysis, Advisor, you will analyze business operations to identify inefficiencies, develop strategies for improvement, and implement solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance. You’ll evaluate existing processes, create strategic roadmaps, and manage budgets to optimize organizational assets and operations. This role applies mastery of in-depth knowledge in business operations analysis and may act as a project manager for short to mid-term projects, requiring creativity, resourcefulness, and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Improve analytical support for an Operating Unit or the enterprise by enhancing data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure successful completion of key business operations projects.
- Provide advice to stakeholders by presenting analytical findings and making recommendations to impact business operations.
- Identify and improve operational processes and procedures, including maintenance and development of reporting dashboards, to streamline business practices and improve efficiency.
- Collect and analyze data to present findings and make actionable recommendations.
- Develop models to inform decision-making on emerging technology investments.
- Create business plan scenarios to evaluate different priorities and potential options for achieving operating unit or enterprise objectives.
- Verify that established processes align with relevant rules, principles, laws, and industry standards to safeguard assets, minimize errors, and mitigate risk.
- Ensure the protection of SCE’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, as well as the proper management of sensitive data, including private customer information and confidential records.
Requirements
- Seven or more years of experience in business operations analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
- Advanced experience with inspections, including Overhead Detailed Inspections and Aerial Transmission Inspections.
- Experience supporting technical projects related to new standards, inspection questions, and emergent initiatives.
- Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience organizing, leading, or supporting cross-functional teams.
- Strong adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, procedures, and ways of working in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Proficiency in SAP and SAS for creating notifications, retrieving data, and managing large datasets.
- Knowledge or experience with Transmission and Distribution (T&D) E1 Notifications lifecycle, notifications, remediation criteria, and/or California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) General Orders 95, 128, and 165 requirements.
- Experience making timely, sound decisions with minimal guidance.
- General construction knowledge of Transmission and Distribution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, and GIS systems.
Schedule
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. The work mode may change based on business needs.
