About the role
This position involves designing and delivering learning experiences for students in a grade level and/or content area. The role also includes organizing and facilitating the learning process, participating in a community of learning, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver learning experiences aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards
- Organize and facilitate the learning process using evidence-based instructional practices and technology
- Evaluate student progress and make appropriate adjustments
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine knowledge and skills for student success
- Create and implement lessons that connect to a variety of content areas and disciplines, emphasizing literacy and mathematical practices
- Establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students
- Engage students as individuals, including those with diverse needs and interests, across a range of ability levels
- Adapt teaching for the benefit of all students
- Plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning
- Achieve proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
- Provide feedback and use results to inform planning and instruction
- Use appropriate technology to engage students in authentic learning experiences
- Set high expectations and use processes to support the development of critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Model and promote effective communication
- Demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership
- Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provide reports as required
- Manage materials and supplies
- Support the development of students' academic, social, emotional, and health needs
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
- Ensure students are supervised at all times
- Follow established policies and procedures regarding the health, safety, welfare, and education of students
- Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
- Work collaboratively with families and/or significant adults for the benefit of students
- Plan and supervise educational support staff and volunteer(s)
- Respond to safety and/or crisis situations
- Supervise volunteers and paraprofessionals where applicable
- Use and integrate technology to support professional responsibilities, instruction, data interpretation, and student learning
- Use effective conflict resolution
- Reflect on professional practice to improve teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) meeting subject, grade level, and/or content area qualifications consistent with Colorado Department of Education and Academy District 20 requirements
- Colorado Department of Education Teacher License: Initial or Professional
- Master's degree and willingness to teach concurrent enrollment or other Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes is preferred

$52,020.00 - $83,163.00 (Based on education and experience at 100% FTE)
