About the role

As a Business Manager, you will lead remote efforts to optimize on-site accounting, delinquency, and collection duties for multiple communities with 1,500–2,500 units, significantly impacting revenue and occupancy. You will partner with the onsite property management team to effectively manage resident accounts and ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Actively pursue recovery of delinquent monies and provide lists of delinquent accounts to attorneys for eviction action in accordance with state and local laws.
• Help reduce current resident delinquency while assisting residents in achieving sustainable outcomes.
• Ensure proper handling and scheduling of evictions and abandoned units.
• Work a 40-hour flexible work week according to property and time zone needs.
• Research and maintain accurate resident accounts and balances, promptly making corrections where needed.
• Responsible for FAS processing, sending former accounts to collection agencies, processing security deposit dispositions in accordance with policy, and maintaining routine collections processes according to state and local laws.
• Understand, operate, and manage computer receivables systems in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Review rental applications and sign approvals or rejections of prospects.
• Build and maintain partnerships with the onsite team to ensure exceptional customer service delivery.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in property management (multifamily preferred).
• At least two years of customer service/sales skills.
• At least two years of experience in accounts receivable/payable.
• YARDI experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in computer software to solve financial and operational issues.
• Strong communication skills to keep property teams informed and engage residents effectively.

Pay

The expected salary range for this Washington position is $92,000 to $105,000, with actual compensation determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
