What you will be doing
- Report Development (50%)
- Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language
- Migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model
- Automate/streamline manual processes
- Data Monitoring and Diagnostics (20%)
- Monitor reports for data discrepancies and issues through use of Power BI and SQL
- Address, diagnose, and resolve reporting issues identified by business partners
- Semantic Model Support (10%)
- Propose changes and enhancements to established semantic models to support new reporting, or improve existing reporting
- Implement minor changes to semantic models as needed
- Report Maintenance (10%)
- Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed
- Documentation (5%)
- Document report development processes for business contingency purposes
- Maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships
- Maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience
- Maintain reporting changelog
- Team Support & Other Duties (5%)
- Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in a data or business intelligence focused role
- 3+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI
- 3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining
- 3+ years’ experience collecting and documenting business requirements
- Mortgage experience highly preferred
- Experience with Financial reporting a plus
Required Skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Power BI: Understand how to navigate semantic models, Understand/create dynamic measures using DAX, Power Query for data sourcing/transformation, Row-level security implementation, Calculation groups, Data visualization
- Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (T-SQL): Standard select queries, Joins across multivariate datasets including multiple keys, Data normalization, Window functions and methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
