About the role

The Business Intelligence Partner will collaborate with department business managers and operational leadership to define business problems and build solutions that provide meaningful insights to drive operational and financial improvement. This position requires advanced financial, analytical, and technical skills to help the organization drive successful performance.

The Business Intelligence Partner performs detailed analyses of their assigned service line, developing dashboards to monitor performance and identifying issues and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute complex SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and business requirements, translating them into actionable technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Integrate data from various internal and external systems, including databases and spreadsheets, and work with vendors to develop custom data extracts and manage automated data exchanges.
  • Build interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Tableau to provide clear and impactful data visualizations to business and operational leaders.
  • Perform in-depth data exploration and identify root causes of performance issues to deliver solutions that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, manage risk, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate analytical findings to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, and offer recommendations to enhance healthcare delivery quality.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration by sharing insights, systems, and best practices with peers.
  • Train and support end users in navigating and interpreting dashboards to foster a self-service analytics environment.
  • Monitor BI performance and contribute to the implementation of data governance policies to uphold data quality and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare informatics, information systems) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong experience in SQL, including data transformation, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in building dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare data standards such as HIPAA.
  • Experience working with EMR and claims-based data sets; quality reporting preferred.
  • Exposure to Python or R for automation is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience with data integration, governance, and using analytics to drive operational improvements.

Work Environment

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, and crouching for a majority of the workday. The role involves working with equipment such as computer terminals, fax machines, printers, and copiers. Occasional lifting may be required.

This position reports to Department Leadership.
