About the role

The North American Transportation Services (NATS) team at Amazon is dedicated to innovating network planning and execution through the development and application of advanced transportation and delivery management concepts. The NATS Transportation Planning team seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer who can leverage numerical methods and modeling to improve customer delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute reports to drive operational excellence and exceed customer expectations.
  • Expose gaps in the supply chain that could lead to customer-facing defects.
  • Analyze operational issues, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to address supply chain vulnerabilities and enhance performance.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Create dashboards and bring products to production across different Amazon transportation teams.
  • Work autonomously under time constraints to meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from various sources.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Advanced SQL skills and ability to write complex queries from multiple tables.
  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from databases or data warehouses and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.

Qualifications

  • Highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, and team-oriented.
  • Able to work autonomously under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity, with the ability to craft effective prompts and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs in a professional setting.
