Business Intelligence Engineer

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Support the creation and maintenance of Power BI semantic models.
• Write and modify SQL queries to retrieve and validate data.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with senior developers and data engineers.
• Address report defects, enhancements, and routine maintenance requests.
• Participate in requirements discussions and translate them into Power BI solutions.
• Adhere to development standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
• Apply best practices in data modeling, report performance, and usability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of experience working with Power BI in a professional or business setting.
• Some experience with relational databases and structured datasets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
• Basic understanding of Power BI fundamentals, including report and dashboard creation, data modeling, and SQL.
• Familiarity with relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to develop technical capabilities.

Pay

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $95,000 - $110,000.
