Business Intelligence Developer II

About the role

The Business Intelligence Developer II works under general supervision to develop reports, extracts, dashboards, and other BI tools for financial, operational, or clinical information systems supporting Bronson Healthcare Group.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of business operations and KPIs to recommend BI solutions.
• Guide customers to define reporting requirements and ensure data consistency and quality.
• Generate reports and design dashboards for internal and external customers for performance monitoring and decision making.
• Summarize and analyze data to provide insight and identify key learnings to improve service delivery, increase revenue, and reduce costs.
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of underlying data and analytic models.
• Produce technical documentation to support data delivery development.
• Work in an Agile environment participating in daily team huddles.
• Collaborate with IT staff and business stakeholders reviewing, testing, and piloting new BI solutions.
• Correct routine and non‑routine reporting issues or work with IT, department users, system coordinators, and vendors to restore service.
• Develop and maintain collegial relationships and regular communication with department users, system coordinators, IT staff, and vendors regarding analytics.
• Support and participate in research, planning, installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrade of applicable systems.
• Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data needs.
• Understand choices involved in application specifications.
• Investigate and analyze customer preferences and business operations while making data analysis decisions.
• Analyze new reporting and BI functionality in releases to determine applicability.
• Develop and document internal procedures to use with BI and analytics.
• Work with application builders to ensure applications have necessary data.
• Stay abreast of developments in BI and data visualization and evaluate for incorporation.
• Evaluate systems, processing, and development needs and recommend additional equipment or new systems.
• Resolve or ensure proper escalation during outages or degraded system performance.
• Serve as subject matter expert and mentor for level I analysts.
• When appropriate, lead or co‑lead system activities as assigned.
• Participate in planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of financial, operational, or clinical information systems as they relate to reporting and BI.
• Maintain current understanding of processes involved in these activities.
• Collaborate with IT, customer, and vendor teams in evaluating development efforts, planning pilot and full implementation of new systems/features, and processing user feedback.
• Maintain detailed understanding and working knowledge of current financial, operational, or clinical information systems, their functions, reporting capabilities, and relationships to other Bronson systems.
