Business Intelligence and Analytics Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support data analytics strategies across the organization.
• Aid in generating reports for internal and external distribution.
• Support the design and development of Business Intelligence Platform and Data Conversion products.
• Utilize analytical skills to monitor and plan key performance indicators and provide actionable data for business strategies.
• Support the implementation of business solutions, leverage technology, and guide decision-making processes to support business transformations and achieve SBTC long-term strategy goals.
• Assist the N5/Strategic Planning Department in managing projects using established Project Management methodologies.
• Support SBTC Business Intelligence and Analytics program for senior leadership in the decision-making process.
• Support Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives to integrate planning, development, and implementation of knowledge initiatives across the command.
• Promote knowledge sharing through operational business processes and tools to enhance performance within the command.
• Provide technical expertise in organizational studies and evaluations, system design, work simplification studies, and operations and procedures to assist senior leadership in improving efficiency and effectiveness.
• Aid in defining, developing, and implementing departmental strategies around Business Intelligence, contributing to SBTC strategic direction.
• Provide insight into setting Metrics and Key Production Indicators (KPIs) reporting direction.
• Support Business Intelligence projects, including development, reporting, and integration.
• Offer Business Intelligence insight and lead a team supporting SBTC strategies and analysis.
• Support Business Intelligence and analytics, and data integration initiatives.
• Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining multiple business applications systems and reports.
• Support the design and implementation of Web applications, InfoPath Forms, SharePoint, ETL, Relational Databases, and Tableau Dashboards.
• Coordinate multiple Continuous Improvement Projects, manage project plans, responsibilities, and progress, and prepare reports for upper management.
• Search for technology innovation opportunities and provide recommendations regarding project delivery plans.
• Provide key technical expertise in internal dashboards and Business Intelligence initiatives, collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver impactful analytics.
• Aid in forecasting student throughput and conducting forecasting analyses.
• Aid in preparing and presenting command briefings, reports, and recommendations to various levels of the Chain of Command.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years' experience with Project Management or Business Intelligence and Data Analytics with no Degree, or six (6) years' experience with Project Management or Business Intelligence and Data Analytics with a degree from a U.S. accredited college in either Education, Engineering, or Instructional Development.
• Six (6) years’ experience working with and supporting business and/or technology users in the area of Business Intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
• Three (3) years’ experience leveraging multiple technology platforms, such as Excel, Access, Tableau and other SOCOM approved software/databases when made available, to support program strategies and recommend solutions that meet business goals.
• Three (3) years’ experience with advanced data visualization and reporting proficiency with standard Business Intelligence applications, e.g., Tableau.
• Two (2) years’ experience in analyzing high volumes of data for multiple purposes in a dynamic environment.
• Three (3) years’ experience with designing and/or producing analytic-based reports.
• Three (3) years’ experience with finance strategy, analysis, and forecasting.
• Three (3) years’ experience with designing and implementing IT Process solutions on enterprise platforms.
