Business Intelligence and Analytics Specialist

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. Clearance required: Secret.

Responsibilities

• Support data analytics strategies across the organization.
• Assist with providing reports generated for internal and external distribution.
• Support the design and development of Business Intelligence Platform and Data Conversion products.
• Use analytical skills to monitor and plan key performance indicators and provide actionable data for business strategies.
• Support implementation of business solutions, leveraging technology and decision‑making processes to achieve SBTC long‑term strategy goals.
• Assist the N5/Strategic Planning Department to manage projects following established Project Management methodologies.
• Support SBTC Business Intelligence and Analytics program for senior leadership decision‑making.
• Support Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives, integrating planning, development, and implementation across the command.
• Work with department heads to define KM requirements, manage KM projects, and implement solutions.
• Promote knowledge sharing through operational business processes and tools to increase command performance.
• Provide technical expertise in organizational studies, evaluations, work simplification studies, and prepare operations procedures for senior leadership.
• Empower all business functions with data and solutions to impact decision‑making.
• Define, develop, and implement departmental strategies around Business Intelligence contributing to SBTC strategic direction.
• Assist with setting metrics and Key Production Indicators (KPIs) reporting direction.
• Participate in Business Intelligence projects: development, reporting, and integration.
• Provide Business Intelligence insight and team leadership supporting SBTC strategies and analysis.
• Support Business Intelligence, analytics, and data integration initiatives.
• Support critical command strategies and business processes by developing, implementing, and maintaining multiple business application systems and reports.
• Design and implement web applications, InfoPath Forms, SharePoint, ETL processes, relational databases, and Tableau dashboards.
• Coordinate multiple Continuous Improvement projects, setting plans, deadlines, responsibilities, and tracking progress; build reports and dashboards for upper management.
• Manage Special Operations Command (SOCOM)/SBTC social media APAN infrastructure projects.
• Search for technology innovation opportunities and provide recommendations for project delivery plans.
• Provide key technical expertise in internal dashboards and Business Intelligence initiatives, working with cross‑functional teams.
• Assist with forecasting student throughput and analysis.
• Prepare and present command briefings, reports, and recommendations to various levels of the chain of command.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of experience with Project Management or Business Intelligence and Data Analytics without a degree, or six (6) years with a degree from a U.S. accredited college in Education, Engineering, or Instructional Development.
• Six (6) years supporting business and/or technology users in Business Intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
• Three (3) years leveraging multiple technology platforms (e.g., Excel, Access, Tableau, and other SOCOM‑approved software/databases) to support program strategies and recommend solutions.
• Three (3) years of advanced data visualization and reporting proficiency with standard Business Intelligence applications such as Tableau.
• Two (2) years analyzing high volumes of data for multiple purposes in a dynamic environment.
• Three (3) years designing and/or producing analytic‑based reports.
• Three (3) years experience in finance strategy, analysis, and forecasting.
• Three (3) years experience designing and implementing IT process solutions on enterprise platforms.
