About the role

Business intelligence (BI) analysts help guide and improve the way that businesses' management staff foster collaboration within and between departments. Those who desire to work as a BI analyst should demonstrate a strong understanding of managerial and professional skill sets. BI analysts are generally tasked with collaborating with a team of cross-departmental managers and are expected to demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities. They should also be well versed in many different aspects of business administration.

Presentation skills are essential, as BI analysts often chair meetings discussing organizational data and future company directions. Analysts may also lead seminars training new managers on business intelligence aspects.

BI analysts should exhibit proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. Experience with ERP systems like Oracle or SAP is a plus. Analysts must demonstrate superior creative thinking, decision-making abilities, and the capability to work within a diverse, global, consumer-oriented workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for a centralized data warehouse.
  • Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems.
  • Standardize data collection by developing methods for database design and validation reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental managers to guide and improve business processes.
  • Lead meetings and seminars on organizational data and business intelligence topics.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficiency in query and reporting analysis tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is a plus.
  • Superior creative thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, global, consumer-oriented workforce.
