Business Intelligence Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn ABL’s data into trusted reporting and insight that drives decisions across Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Capital Markets, and the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements, restating the requirement back to the requester before any build.
Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI and HubSpot, and in other BI tools as needed.
Develop and maintain well-structured datasets and semantic models that produce consistent, agreed metric definitions across the business.
Produce mockups for stakeholder sign-off before building, then refine the delivered report against the confirmed mockup.
Validate data and reconcile figures across source systems so that reporting can be trusted.
Define and document metric definitions, business logic, and data dictionaries so terminology stays consistent across teams.
Support marketing and sales analytics, including lead and funnel reporting, attribution, and conversion analysis.
Build executive and board-level reporting, distilling detailed analysis into clear, concise narratives.
Document reports, data sources, and processes so they are maintainable and transferable.
Contribute to data quality and governance by surfacing issues and helping define standards.
Experience & Seniority
3 to 6 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting roles.
Proven experience building production reports and dashboards used by business stakeholders.
Strong ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear requirements and deliver against them.
Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and communicating insight clearly.
Comfortable owning deliverables end to end within a structured process.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or technical field.
BI or analytics certifications are a plus, for example Power BI certification.
Technical Skills & Proficiency
Reporting & Analytics: Strong proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.
Expert-level SQL for querying, transformation, and analysis.
Experience with HubSpot reporting or a comparable CRM analytics platform.
Ability to build clear, executive-ready visualizations and narratives.
Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks.
Exposure to dbt or a similar transformation framework is a plus.
Familiarity with version control such as Git and a structured, documented way of working.
Comfort working with multiple source systems such as CRM, ERP, and loan servicing, and reconciling across them.
Data & Tools
Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks.
Exposure to dbt or a similar transformation framework is a plus.
Familiarity with version control such as Git and a structured, documented way of working.
