About the role

Amazon Logistics is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to drive performance measurement and management, innovation, and execution in last mile delivery. This role involves optimizing planning, execution, process improvement, and tracking progress against goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams to gather requirements and deliver complete solutions
  • Work with Data Engineering and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define Amazon Logistics data and BI development needs
  • Collaborate with in-house scientists, global supply chain, transportation, and logistics teams to identify new BI capabilities and projects
  • Conduct deep dive investigations into operations execution and business problems, identifying opportunities, and leading or supporting implementation
  • Analyze and visualize large scale geo-spatial logistics and transaction data to determine user behavior or delivery process problems, and output solid analysis reports with recommendations
  • Serve as a liaison between the WW Planning and Analytics team and the operations business teams to provide actionable insights into current delivery performance and investigate future improvements or innovations
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
  • 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources
  • 1+ years of performing statistical analysis
  • 1+ years of developing automated reporting
  • 3+ years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
  • 1+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
