Responsibilities
- Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided.
- Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
- Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for non-immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees.
- Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
- Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
- Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues.
- Proactively communicate with clients, within SLAs/team protocols and with a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized response.
- Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
- Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
- Leverage firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data is entered.
- Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
- As a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise.
- Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- U.S. JD or LLM required
- Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association
- 0-2 years of experience at Associate level
- An academic understanding of immigration law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines
- Dedication to exceptional client service
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands

Pay
A reasonable and good-faith estimate of the current salary range for individuals able to work a hybrid schedule in the office locally is $133,000.00 - $166,000.00.
