About the role
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in county or state court systems, clerk of courts, prothonotary, recorder of deeds, register of wills offices, legal assistant, paralegal, or law firm support roles.
Responsibilities
- Research and verify public records, including criminal and civil court records, liens, judgments, bankruptcies, property records, and corporate filings
- Navigate court portals, government databases, and public record repositories
- Review legal documents and analyze findings for accuracy and reportability
- Prepare clear, concise reports
- Maintain compliance with legal and privacy requirements
- Travel locally to obtain records from courts and government offices
- Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround expectations
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred
- One year of experience in legal research, court administration, investigations, public records research, or a related field is preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- The ability to pass a background check and drug screening
