Business Development- Technical Proposal Writer

About the role

WRA Architects is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer to join our Business Development Team, responsible for leading our proposal (RFQ) process. In this role, you’ll manage the creation of RFQ proposals, primarily for public education clients, coordinating with cross-functional departments. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with various teams to gather necessary information and craft thorough proposals. The Technical Proposal Writer ensures proposals are compliant with requirements, complete, compelling, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Strong written English language skills
• Create new content from technical information supplied by architects
• Edit content in various ways to suit each RFQ's target audience
• Write and edit content independently
• Capture, organize, and warehouse approved content for quick retrieval
• Strong graphic design skills
• Visualize imagery needed; create it or solicit graphic designers' assistance and feedback
• Gather and organize a large quantity of graphic-designed visual elements for quick retrieval
• Expert in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word; able to learn and navigate other databases
• Work effectively against inflexible deadlines with attention to detail
• Plan, prioritize, and follow through to ensure completion of accurate, high-quality, attractive, and on-time submission documents
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in other departments
• Gather input and content from a variety of stakeholders, prioritize, and craft a final output accordingly
• Use templates, adapt them to diverse audiences, apply company branding elements, and maintain consistent visual appearance in documents

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar field
• Minimum 2 years of experience producing proposals, company brochures, qualifications packages, presentations, or similar materials
• Experience assembling RFQ materials
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating the production of graphic deliverables accurately and on time
• Experience writing, creating, and editing content for various audiences
• Solid understanding of Adobe InDesign required; proficiency in Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word a plus
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate other databases
• Previous experience working in an architecture environment strongly preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, open-concept team environment
• Valid driver's license
