Business Development & Pitch Coordinator
About the Role
The Business Development & Pitch Coordinator supports the Business Development & Marketing Department with a focus on winning work through pitches and RFPs. Responsibilities include generating early drafts of pitch materials, presentations, proposal outlines, project and event coordination, research, competitive intelligence, and other business development needs. This role also involves maintaining practice literature and lawyer biographies, drafting and editing submissions for surveys and awards, coordinating sponsorships, generating analytics, and business development targeting.

Responsibilities
- Generate pitch materials, presentations (PowerPoint), proposals, and timelines; assist in proofreading and pitch preparation.
- Coordinate sponsorships and event planning, including mailing lists, invitations, approvals, ad concepts, RSVP tracking, name tags, project planning, and debrief activities.
- Support distribution of client alerts and newsletters, including conflict checks, proofing, approvals, and quality control.
- Act as project coordinator for non-CLE webinars, delegating responsibilities and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist with practice group and client team structure by planning agendas, meetings, and follow-up for productivity.
- Manage directories and surveys, including submission preparation and project management.
- Conduct research on competitors, clients, prospects, and markets.
- Update and track metrics related to communications and business development efforts.
- Draft, edit, and facilitate content for the firm’s website and intranet.
- Track matters for practice and industry groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline requiring writing, research, and analysis (or equivalent work experience).
- Three or more years of marketing or business development experience; law firm experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with InterAction, Vuture, Foundation, or SharePoint is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to generate written deliverables for internal and external audiences, often on short notice.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and busy partners.
- Analytical with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, patience, and discretion.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including commuting to the office on designated in-office days.
