Business Development Associate, European Market
Key responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Europe luxury travel market, building a robust pipeline of potential clients and travel agent partners.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as one of the primary points of contact for Europe-based travel agents and clients, managing relationships from initial inquiry through post-trip follow-up, including complaint resolution and feedback management to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Destination Training & Education: Create and conduct engaging destination training sessions for Europe travel agents, showcasing WildChina’s unique offerings, new experiences, and China travel expertise to position WildChina as the go-to China specialist.
- Proposal Development: Craft compelling proposals and sample itineraries that showcase bespoke China experiences, working closely with the greater team to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Trade Show & Event Representation: Represent WildChina at Europe travel trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and forge new partnerships.
- Marketing Asset Creation: Develop marketing materials, destination guides, and sales tools tailored to the EUROPE market to support business development efforts.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about Europe luxury travel trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to continuously refine WildChina’s positioning and offerings in the Europe market.
- Sales Target Achievement: Work towards individual and team sales targets, tracking progress and adjusting strategies to maximize revenue growth.
What makes you the ideal candidate?
- Experience: A proven sales/business development track record in the European market — experience in travel, hospitality, or cultural sectors preferred.
- China Expertise: Strong knowledge of China travel, culture, and luxury travel landscape; genuine passion for Chinese destinations and experiences.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English required, with Mandarin Chinese HSK 4 or above (or equivalent proficiency).
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with CRM systems (HubSpot experience preferred), messaging platforms including WhatsApp, and Chinese social media platforms such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book).
- Professional Attributes: Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong relationship-building abilities, self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset, and exceptional organizational skills. A passion for and deep understanding of European luxury travel trends and customer expectations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently for survey trips, client accompaniment, trade shows, and market visits to the UK.
- Sales Aptitude: Natural ability to build rapport, identify client needs, and close deals while maintaining WildChina’s commitment to exceptional service.
