About the role
EY has a robust life sciences commercial practice, helping clients with strategic growth, business transformation, and commercial excellence. This senior role within our Consulting practice will have the opportunity to lead large engagements, build solutions, lead teams, and innovate in the market. Our practice works with large pharma, biotechnology, medical device manufacturers, and medical technology industries. You will be an integral member of our life sciences consulting team and spend most of your time focused on providing client services in the following areas: business transformation, commercial operations, commercial data and analytics, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation and enterprise transformation.
Responsibilities
- Supporting client engagement teams and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain.
- Leading large-scale client engagements and consistently delivering quality client services.
- Maintaining client service delivery expectations and staying informed about relevant business and industry trends.
- Fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by mentoring and counseling junior consultants.
- Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and networks.
- Collaborating with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.
- Remaining current on new developments in the life sciences advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Biology, Pharmacology
- 6+ years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas:
- Commercial analytics
- Brand strategy
- Pricing and market access
- Commercial operations model transformation
- Digital campaign management strategy
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)
- Experience with commercial operations and analytics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- The executive presence to interact with the C-Suite
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Biology, Pharmacology
- 6+ years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries, focused in at least one of the following areas:
- Commercial analytics
- Brand strategy
- Pricing and market access
- Commercial operations model transformation
- Digital campaign management strategy
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases, prescription and claims databases, etc.)
- Experience with commercial operations and analytics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Benefits
To qualify for the role, you must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Biology, or Pharmacology, and 6+ years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience. Additional experience in market access and commercial analytics will be a plus. You should have prior experience working in Strategy focused boutique life sciences or internal strategy roles with top biopharma clients (e.g., Merck, Pfizer, BMS).
Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
Pay
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $114,800 to $210,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $137,900 to $239,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
