Business Communications Lecturer (Undergraduate) - Business
About the role
The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at California State University Channel Islands is seeking applications for temporary faculty to prepare and teach one or more sections of Business Communication courses at the undergraduate level.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or more classes as assigned and as student demand allows.
- Conduct and turn in assessment activities as outlined each semester.
Requirements
Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters degree with a focus in English Composition, Business, Communication, or a related discipline.
Required Qualifications: The minimum degree requirements above; Demonstrated preparation for teaching Business Communication at a university level; Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in English Composition, Business, Communication, or in a related discipline; 5+ years full-time work experience; Work/consulting experience in private or public sector related to Business Communications; A record of effective teaching.

California State University Lecturer Salary (Academic Year) Schedules (anticipated hiring ranges): Range 2: $5,507 - $6,677 Range 3: $6,221 – 13,224 Range 4: $6,825 - $14,523 Range 5: $8,593 - $15,211 Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience.
Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.

Schedule
Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
