About the role

This role is responsible for providing advice and valuable financial solutions to complex Business Banking clients and prospects. You will serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor, acquiring, deepening, and maintaining profitable relationships while collaborating with teammates and facilitating client relationships with Product Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Manages an extensive portfolio of complex clients and prospects with annual revenues of $20-$50 million, helping companies save, borrow, and invest for their current and future needs.
  • Acquires, deepens, and maintains profitable client relationships through sales, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends.
  • Collaborates with local market stakeholders and teammates throughout the bank, including Investment Banking, Foreign Exchange, and Wealth Management, and facilitates client relationships with Product Specialists in Credit, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services to design and deliver financial solutions.
  • Leads and facilitates dialogue with complex clients and prospects regarding topics such as industry trends, alternative capital structures, and general business issues.
  • Coaches and mentors peers while utilizing leadership skills.
  • Adapts to changes in sales practices and broader market and industry conditions as needed.
  • Leverages a consultative sales process and knowledge of various industries (including healthcare, retail, and restaurant) to identify clients' needs and recommend solutions, with a focus on complex opportunities.
  • Achieves sales and revenue goals while balancing operational excellence, risk management, and client experience expectations; maintains accurate records and adheres to Service Level Agreements.
  • Builds meaningful relationships and collaborates with internal partners to provide subject matter expertise on merchant payment processing pricing, software, gateways, and security.
  • Proactively identifies and develops a pipeline for sales opportunities with internal partners and clients.
  • Acts as a champion for clients by connecting expertise across the company to help them achieve their goals.
  • Establishes relationships with associations, centers of influence, and vendor partners, adapting to an ever-changing payment processing environment.
  • Independently identifies sales opportunities from the bank’s portfolio of clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial lending, business development, commercial credit, and portfolio management in business banking or middle market sector.
  • Experience managing an extensive portfolio of clients with annual revenues of $20-$50 million.
  • Proven track record of sales, prospecting new business, and enhancing existing relationships.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow analysis to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics preferred.
  • Deep understanding of clients’ payments ecosystem and ability to consult on integrating and leveraging a suite of solutions effectively.
  • Knowledge of both the proprietary Bank of America Merchant Services platform and the Fiserv Clover platform.
