About the Role
Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned goals (in Loan Production and Deposit Growth) through outside calling activities and relationship building of potential and existing business customers. The Business Banking Relationship Manager contributes to the profitability and growth of SYB Retail/Business Banking by building, developing, and expanding client relationships with Business customers (companies with annual revenues of up to $5 million) in a highly consultative, needs-based manner.
Responsibilities
- Develop and utilize formal calling plans to target new business and expand existing Business Banking clients (75% of role).
- Perform credit analysis and portfolio management for assigned business banking relationships for new and existing clients.
- Maintain credit quality and process renewals and past dues in a timely manner as part of portfolio management.
- Serve as the Business Banking “expert” for assigned Branch Managers within a designated territory.
- Create partnerships with Branch Managers to build and expand relationships with area businesses.
- Assist with analyzing business financial statements and identifying strengths and weaknesses of loan requests.
- Actively cross-sell appropriate SYB Banking products to new and existing customers.
Requirements
- College degree required (preferably in business, finance, or accounting).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a banking relationship manager role.
- Strong sales, credit underwriting, relationship management, business development, and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand and articulate Business Banking strategies and philosophy.
- Thorough level of lending skills required.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with frequent travel between assigned branches and potential customer places of business.
- Sedentary work with extended periods of sitting at a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, and office equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly via phone, video, and in person.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading screens, documents, and financial data.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).

Schedule
Full-time (flexible start time), approximately 45 hours per week.
