About the role
The Business Banking Officer drives business-banking growth within an assigned geographic market by developing, managing, and expanding relationships with small-business customers and prospects. The role delivers lending, deposit, and treasury-management solutions while partnering with internal teams to achieve growth objectives and maintain a high-quality loan and deposit portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective business customers through proactive calling, networking, and community involvement.
- Meet with prospects and customers to identify financial needs and recommend appropriate lending, deposit, and treasury-management solutions.
- Generate new business opportunities and deepen existing relationships to increase customer penetration.
- Achieve established goals for loan production, deposit growth, treasury-management services, and overall business development.
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of business-banking relationships, ensuring strong asset quality and customer retention.
- Conduct preliminary credit analysis and gather financial information for loan requests in accordance with Bank policies.
- Collaborate with retail, commercial, mortgage, and other business lines to identify and make quality referrals.
- Develop and execute sales and calling plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Plan, participate in, and follow up on community, organizational, and branch events to generate business opportunities and strengthen the Bank’s market presence.
- Represent the Bank in civic, professional, and community organizations to promote business development and enhance the Bank’s reputation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, Bank policies, and risk-management standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of business-banking or financial-services sales experience.
- Demonstrated business-development, relationship-management, and portfolio-management skills.
- Solid knowledge of business lending, deposit products, treasury-management services, and related banking products.
- Proven ability to develop new business and achieve sales and growth goals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $110,000.00.
Physical Demands
This office-based position requires:
- Frequent use of fingers and hands for typing, writing, and filing.
- Ability to move throughout the office and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to see and hear in a noisy office environment.
- Occasional transport of up to 20 pounds.
