About the role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Banker (LO) in Consumer Banking and Lending. This role involves building, maintaining, and growing relationships with business banking clients in branches. Responsibilities include managing and growing a portfolio of clients, typically ranging from $500K to $2MM in annual sales, providing tailored financial recommendations, and actively prospecting and networking to build relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of low to moderately complex business clients, typically $500K to $2MM in annual sales
- Offer a suite of financial solutions and digital services to meet the needs of business clients, leveraging available tools and positioning yourself as a product expert
- Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their operations and priorities, providing tailored financial recommendations that align with their objectives while staying compliant with policies and procedures
- Act as a trusted advisor by offering a full range of products and services including business accounts, credit, treasury services, and digital tools
- Proactively source, acquire, and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues, using strong business acumen to provide financial services consultation to business customers
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Lending Officers for complex structures and ensure alignment with underwriting policies and risk guidelines
- Assist customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms of a dwelling secured transaction
- Partners with Relationship Managers and Lending Officers for complex structures and ensure alignment with underwriting policies and risk guidelines
Requirements
- 2+ years of financial services, sales, or customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of in-branch business banking experience
- 1+ year of experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across assigned territory
- Proficient with proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products
- High motivation with ability to successfully meet team objectives while maintaining individual performance
- Ability to manage expectations and conduct follow-ups with customers and Wells Fargo partners
- Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems
- Knowledge and understanding of retail compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention
- Ability to educate and connect customers to technology and share the value of mobile banking options
- Experience mentoring and peer-coaching others
