David Zwirner seeks a Business Associate at its New York location to support the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing global gallery operations, with a focus on legal, insurance, and real estate matters. This is a hybrid role scheduled Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm.

Responsibilities

  • Legal
    • Support registration and sales teams in reviewing and negotiating contracts for gallery transactions, including loans, consignments, and third-party exhibition or collaboration agreements.
    • Liaise with external counsel on art law-related matters.
    • Draft and assist with legal documents and contracts for special projects and exhibitions.
  • Insurance & Real Estate
    • Manage gallery-wide insurance policies and renewals in coordination with the COO.
    • Liaise with internal departments to gather information and documentation for renewal processes.
    • Track and maintain insurance and lease renewal schedules.
    • Review documents to ensure compliance with applicable insurance policies.
  • Business Support
    • Collaborate with the finance team to draft and review specialized terms and conditions for gallery invoices and purchase agreements, ensuring adherence to policies and alignment with gallery priorities.
    • Ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Ability to read, review, and analyze large volumes of legal documents and contracts.
  • Background in insurance, especially fine arts insurance, is a strong asset.
  • 3+ years of art industry experience preferred.
  • Must be focused, reliable, and have an interest in art business.
  • Efficient, able to multitask, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with team members at all levels.

Pay

$68,000–$80,000 per year.

Schedule
