About the role
To be considered for the role, you must permanently reside in one of the following states: Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, or Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Consults, advises, leads and assists practice management in providing leadership and direction by performing a combination of the following:
- Financial and productivity reporting
- Clinical effort and compensation alignment
- Budget development and monitoring
- Financial funds flow coordination and optimization
- Human resources management
- Fulfills service level assistance to assigned MCVP clinical departments to facilitate health system wide alignment.
- Ensures compliance with VCU and VCUHS policies and procedures.
- Works closely and in collaboration with assigned MCVP Clinical Departments, physicians, advanced practice providers, staff, and VCU and VCUHS management and administrative personnel to resolve problems, workflow issues, customer service issues, human resource issues and to implement new initiatives, policies, programs, etc.
- Maintains current knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations and University and Health System policies and procedures.
- Ensures that clinical operations are sound and efficient, educational programs meet regulating body requirements, and all grants and contract awards are implemented.
- Reporting requirements are conducted in accordance with established University and sponsoring agencies requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Licensing/ Certification: Licensure/Certification Required: Licensure/Certification Required: Licensure/Certification Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Qualifications
- Years and Type of Required Experience: 3-5 years of previous work experience in Finance, Human Resources, Physician Group Management, Physician Compensation, or Accounting in a healthcare setting
- Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Foundational understanding of financial management, budgeting concepts, and basic productivity tracking. Ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues appropriately. Basic familiarity with health system operations and funds flow. Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment. Exposure to change management concepts through coursework or prior roles. Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and introductory data analysis tools. Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with wRVU or KPI data under guidance. Ability to complete assigned tasks with supervision and collaborate with team members. Demonstrates foundational competency in one or more core areas (data analysis, financial processes, revenue cycle, or clinical operations). Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Ability to learn and apply institutional financial, HR, and operational systems. Communicates clearly and professionally with internal team members. Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Able to summarize routine information in clear, understandable terms. Represents the department appropriately in basic internal interactions. Supports communication efforts within the division as directed. Works under close supervision with clearly defined tasks. Consults frequently with supervisor for direction and clarification.
